UNDP Internship Details
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Unit of Information and Technology Management (ITM) in Copenhagen is responsible for supporting UNDP Country Offices around the world with ICT and Green Energy solutions.
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) seeks People Development interns with experience and knowledge in at least one of following areas of: Onboarding and People Management Development, Leadership Development, Capability Development, Career Development, Data and Knowledge Management, Evaluation, and/or Communication.
UNDP is the development arm of the United Nations. Present in 170 countries with over 17,000 people, UNDP works on the world’s biggest problems: extreme poverty, climate change, good governance, renewable energy, crisis prevention, and women’s empowerment, among others.
Available Workstreams
Applicants are invited to select up to two positions of interest and will be shortlisted and selected to each position based on demonstrated skills and experience:
- Onboarding & People Management intern
- Leadership Development Intern
- Capability Development intern
- Career Development Intern
- Communication Intern
Internship Requirements
To be considered for the UNDP Global Internship, you must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or.
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (undergraduate; minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
- Have graduated with a university degree (first university degree, or second university degree or equivalent, or higher) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
- Interest/Experience in one of the workstream areas is desirable
UNDP Internship Duration and Reward
- The expected duration of the internship is 6 months.
- UNDP interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend, with the rate that varies depending on the duty location. (For Copenhagen, this stipend is an equivalent of $1000 per month).
- The stipend will be paid monthly, and part-time internship arrangements are prorated accordingly.

Desired Skills
- Strong IT skills and excellent knowledge of office software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office suite: PPT, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Streams, Forms, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power APPs).
- Language skills: Fluency in English required. Good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish an asset.
- Knowledge of software design (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Illustrator InDesign) is an asset.
