Technical Writer(Remote)

We’re looking for a Technical Writer who is also interested in UX Writing to join the Product Content team. This team is comprised of Technical and UX Writers who strive to deliver accurate, concise, and well-written technical documentation, online help, error messages, and in-app text that helps users perform their tasks.

Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in technical enterprise software (cloud) space and thrives on collaborating cross-functionally to help create new and better experiences using words. We want someone who shares a knack for simplifying complexity so that information is presented to users in clear, consumable, and actionable ways.

You’ll work with agile software engineering teams to write and maintain documentation and in-app text for cloud apps, iPaas, workflow automation, and more. Essential requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Technical Writer in an agile product-focused enterprise software environment.
  • Demonstrate interest or some experience in UX Writing.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts, research, analyze specifications, and communicate them clearly and precisely in plain language.
  • You can collaborate effectively with agile software engineering teams to write technical documentation & in-app text that is easy to read, understand, and navigate.
  • Excellent organization, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re curious about the user’s journey right from sign up to their successes and failures. You show empathy, love data, and adjust your content based on feedback.
  • You’re excited to learn new tools and technologies. Bonus points if you are comfortable writing in Markdown and working in git.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain software documentation for a highly technical product.
  • Translate complex technical concepts, tasks, and workflows clearly into concise, accurate, easy-to-understand in-app messaging & technical documentation while following the Boomi voice & tone.
  • Maintain product copy over time, while also working on projects that require in-app copy for new features.
  • Work closely with engineers to understand requirements, gather information, and translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and with other writers to address customer feedback, maintain process documentation, close doc tickets, and work on strategic initiatives.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, multi-team agile environment with a willingness to learn and grow.
