Creative Designer at Baobab (Yaba,Lagos)

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Creative Designer to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating visually appealing and creative designs that effectively communicate the bank’s products and services. You will collaborate with various departments to create visual content that aligns with our brand identity and marketing objectives. A background in graphic design, a strong understanding of design principles, proficiency in industry-standard tools, with a bonus for knowledge in motion graphics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Visual Communication

Design high-quality graphic designs for various mediums, including print, digital, and social media Develop creative concepts and designs for the bank’s products, services, and marketing campaigns. Ensure all designs adhere to the bank’s branding guidelines and maintain visual consistency across all platforms. Produce mock-ups and prototypes for new product designs and marketing campaigns

Collaborative Campaign Design

Work closely with the marketing team to conceptualize and execute creative campaigns that drive engagement. Present design concepts and revisions based on feedback from cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and executive stakeholders. Collaborate with the marketing, product, and sales teams to align visual content with the overall strategy. Collaborate with copywriters, content creators, social media handlers and other designers to ensure cohesive and compelling visual content.

Brand Identity & Asset Management

Maintain and Ensure all designs adhere to the bank’s brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms. Manage and organize a library of visual assets, including logos, fonts, images, and templates for easy reuse and collaboration. Conduct regular reviews and updates of design materials to align with the bank’s evolving brand strategy.

Project Management:

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output. Maintain organised files and documentation for all design projects.

Software & Tool Proficiency

Use industry-leading design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, etc.), Figma, Sketch and other relevant software to create visually stunning work. Stay updated with the latest design trends, techniques, and software to continuously improve the quality of creative output.

Motion Graphics (Optional but Preferred)

Create simple motion graphics and animations to enhance the bank’s digital presence and marketing efforts. Develop video content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or any related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably within a marketing or corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or equivalent design tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative designs and mock-ups.
  • Experience in creating product mockups, marketing collateral, and brand visual identities.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of visually appealing and creative designs
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a plus.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in the financial or corporate sector.
  • Familiarity with video editing software such as Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro
