The Women In News Editorial Leadership Award is a career achievement award that recognizes exemplary contribution of all women editor in the newsroom and the contribution of her newspaper to the society.
The award is meant for three outstanding woman editor, representing Africa, Arab region and Southeast Asia who are first among their peers in inspiring and paving the way for the next generation of female editor.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for the award, individual/organization must meet the following requirement;
- A proven track record of success within the news room.
- Demonstrate uncompromising editorial integrity throughout her career and have a strong commitment to the principles of pres freedom and it power to promote democracy and good governance,
- Demonstrate commitment to gender equality, mentoring and lifting up their members of staff while building an organisation that embraces gender equality.
