The Olympism365 Innovation Hub is a collaboration between the International Olympic Committee, Beyond Sport and Women Win designed to support a diverse community of innovators leading new and impactful approaches to sport for sustainable development. The Hub will:
Incubate cutting-edge innovations that maximize the positive impact of sport Facilitate knowledge-sharing and learning across the sports movement and social innovation Support organizations and individuals around the world through a multimillion-dollar investment that will benefit thousands of people and communities by 2026 Broker partnerships and engage diverse sectors — in and out of sport — to foster new solutions and lasting development in sport for social change
This fund resources initiatives powered by emerging technologies that accelerate sport’s contribution to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This will include the creation of a networking and knowledge exchange collective, as well as provision of grants for emerging tech innovations in sport for social impact. This could include, but is not limited to, technologies that innovate education and training, governance, inclusion, community engagement, monitoring and evaluation, safeguarding, and fundraising. Registered and unregistered organizations , NGOs, sports clubs, start-ups, companies, research institutes, Decentralized Autonomous organizations (DAOs) and collectives are encouraged to apply.
Tech365 is a specific initiative within the Hub, designed to explore and incubate emerging technologies that have the potential to accelerate sport’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This does not disqualify groups or individuals using technologies or tech-based solutions to apply for funding from other strands (Grassroots365, Collective365, and Enterprise365). Instead, Tech365 intentionally designed to advance learning and experimentation around emerging technologies.
WHAT IS TECH365?
Tech365 will explore and incubate initiatives powered by emerging technologies that have the potential to accelerate sport’s positive contribution to society.
- Tech365 Explore (phase 1) – a networking and knowledge exchange collective comprising diverse innovators.
- Tech365 Incubate (phase 2) – expert guidance and/or grants for emerging tech innovations, for which Tech365 Explore collective members are eligible to apply.
Objectives
Tech365 is designed to accomplish the following key objectives:
- Facilitate learning and knowledge exchange on emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and virtual/augmented reality.
- Pilot and test emerging technologies that support regenerative practices and experiences in and through sport, benefiting people, communities, and the planet.
- Catalyse the development of open-source tools and solutions that enhance, optimize, and scale sport’s positive impact on society and the environment.
- Foster cross-sector collaboration to drive education, experimentation, and adoption of emerging technologies, leveraging sport to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- We welcome applications from individuals with diverse interest and innovation backgrounds, experiences, and industries (not only sport and social impact), as well as representatives from a diverse range of projects, organizations and companies worldwide. Applicants should express interest in joining a dynamic collective that will engage in networking and knowledge exchange opportunities focused on the theme of using emerging technologies in and through sport to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Eligibility Criteria
Tech365 Explore collective eligibility:
- Individuals above the age of 18, residing anywhere in the world. This could include entrepreneurs, researchers, academics, students, activists, and industry professionals.
- Representatives of organisations (registered or unregistered), residing anywhere in the world. This could include companies, startups, research institutes, universities, DAOs, collectives, NGOs, sports clubs, sports federations. Demonstrated minimum of 2 years interest / experience in your innovation or emerging technology/ies area.
Selection Criteria and Process
The selection committee (representatives from the O365 Innovation Hub and an external expert panel) will assess applications based on:
- Demonstrated interest, understanding and/or experience of using emerging technology/ies in any sector, with commitment to using it in the context of sport for social impact.
- Demonstrated willingness towards contributing to open ideating and learning within the Tech365 Explore collective. Uniqueness of perspective or innovation that will enhance the composition of the collective.
