The Pioneering Women in STEM scholarships from the Svenska institute (SI) provide fully-funded academic scholarships for full-time master’s studies in Sweden. .
The scholarship is available for master’s programs focusing on one or more core areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Find the full list of eligible master’s programmes for the academic year 2025/2026 here.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Applicants must be female citizens from eligible countries and apply to designated master’s programs starting in the autumn semester. Female citizens of the following countries are eligible: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam
- Not currently be enrolled in a master’s programme at a Swedish university.
- Have yet to be awarded an SI scholarship or a degree from a Swedish university.
- Not have resided in Sweden for more than two years before the scholarship application.
- Not have a Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship, a Swedish permanent residence permit, or a temporary work- and residence permit.
