Youth Ambassador Program

Are you passionate about Internet governance and want to make an impact in your community? The Internet Society’s Youth Ambassador Program is your chance to contribute to the future of the Internet. Each year, the program selects 15 young leaders to participate in training, advocacy, and networking opportunities that prepare them to influence policies and drive innovation for a better Internet.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age: 18-30 at the time of application
  • Fluent in reading, speaking, and writing English
  • Comfortable with public speaking and communicating positions
  • Access to the Internet and required equipment during the program
  • Able to dedicate a minimum of 4 hours per week for the 12-month duration
  • Availability for weekly meetings and webinars (typically between 11h and 16h UTC)
  • Valid passport and ability to travel
  • Must not have previously participated as an Internet Society IGF Ambassador or Youth Ambassador

How to Apply

The selection process includes two phases:

  1. Online Application: Reviewed by a selection committee based on alignment with the Internet Society’s mission and previous work on promoting an open and secure Internet.
  2. Online Internet Governance Course: Top applicants are selected to participate in this course, which is facilitated by experienced tutors. The 15 highest-rated students are chosen for the program.

Program Timeline

  • 17 September 2024: Online applications open
  • 8 October 2024: Application submissions close
  • Mid-December 2024: Final selection and program kick-off
